Register now for the Local Poverty Reduction Fund (LPRF)

2016 6/22 | Connects Page, Education Finance

A second call for proposals for the Local Poverty Reduction Fund was launched on April 14, 2016.

The Poverty Reduction Strategy Office (PRSO) and the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) have partnered to administer this round of funding. As a result of this partnership, there are a few new features of the Fund, as well as an important new step in the application process.

If you are interested in applying to the Fund, you must register with the OTF as soon as possible. Please note that registration will be completed on behalf of an organization, not an individual. An administrative support person in the Director or relevant Associate Director’s Office, for example, may complete this task on behalf of a local school board or institution.

The following are a few key points:

  • Online applications are due by June 29, 2016. Organizations must register with OTF prior to submitting an application.
  • The May 30, 2016 soft registration deadline has now passed. Organizations may continue to register; however, to allow time for your registration to be verified, you will need to complete this task as soon as possible.
  • If insufficient time is provided to verify your registration, this may affect your organization’s eligibility to apply for funding.
  • A number of community outreach sessions have been hosted around the province. These sessions provided more information on the program, the registration and application process, and timelines.

For more information about how to apply to the general funding stream, contact OTF at LPRF@otf.ca or phone 1-800-263-2887.

Applicants to the funding stream for Indigenous-led projects do not need to register with the OTF.
