In May, a new national mental health strategy was launched to mark Mental Health Week. Teach Resiliency, a resource for health professionals and educators, is a partnership between Physical & Health Education Canada and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health with input from researchers from Western University. It includes resources and tools to support the mental health and resilience of both teachers and students. (See “Mental Health and Wellness in the Classroom,” Education Today, Fall 2016.)
Aboriginal Enrichment Support Program at Carleton University
The Aboriginal Enrichment Support Program (AESP) is a one-year, full-time program at Carleton University for First Nations students who are thinking about enrolling at that university. Students can be registered in any discipline, and the AESP will offer workshops and links to First Nations services and cultural networks on campus.
