Trustee Randy Sheppard Retires
In February, Randy Sheppard, 78, retired from his position as trustee for the Near North District School Board, citing health issues. In his resignation letter, Sheppard wrote with pride at having worked with such dedicated teachers and staff, and said he would remember his 29 years as a trustee with great fondness. He paid a heartfelt tribute to former trustee and board chair Kathy Hewitt, who passed away in July 2015 and had been a great friend and adviser.
In 2013, Sheppard received one of OPSBA’s President’s Awards, which honour trustees who have served for 25 years or more. Harry Fry has assumed Sheppard’s duties
