EQAO has released the provincial results from the 2016 Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) administered in March 2016. The overall OSSLT success rate has remained stable over the past 5 years, with this year’s result being an 81% success rate.

There continues to be a significant differential between first time success rates for academic (92%) and applied level (47%) students. Similarly, there continues to be a significant differential in the first time success rate for special education students in the academic (83%) and applied level (40%). The need to support special education students has been specifically referenced in this year’s EQAO media release, which is included below.
